The short answer

The selection and planning tools work in your browser without submitting your entries to Tested To Ride. Emailing Leonard shares your message with the email service used to deliver it. Shopping links take you to an external merchant whose own privacy practices apply.

Tools that stay in your browser. No account · no saved tool history
Selection and planning run locally in the page.

Selection, filtering and planning tools

The board selector, table filters, cost worksheet and route planner use the values entered in the current page. These tools do not submit those values to the publication, create a user profile or save them to persistent browser storage. Your browser may handle form history according to its own settings.

The site files include no analytics, advertising pixels, embedded video players, newsletter forms or publication account system. Fonts and article/product images are served locally with the pages rather than loaded from an image merchant or font network.

Requests needed to serve the website

A hosting provider necessarily receives network request information, such as an IP address and requested address, to deliver pages. Its security, access-control and logging practices are separate from the browser-only tools. The owner-private preview also uses the host’s account-access system.

This policy does not promise that the hosting platform has no logs or cookies. Hosting retention and access-control practices must be checked when the site moves to its final public hosting configuration. The publication has not added its own behavioural tracking or personalised advertising.

Amazon and other destinations

Following a shopping link opens Amazon with an affiliate identifier and, where relevant, a selected model or search term. Amazon and its sellers apply their own privacy and purchase practices. The publication does not receive payment-card details or process the order.

Official references and image-source links on the source pages are external destinations too. Opening them is a separate request to the named site; their handling is governed by their own policies.

Information you choose to provide

When you email [email protected] or call the published number, the information you provide may be used to reply, investigate an error or assess a submitted account. Email also passes through the services used to send and receive it; their handling is separate from the website’s local planning tools.

Send only information relevant to the enquiry. Avoid passwords, payment details and unnecessary third-party personal information. Ask before providing private photographs for possible publication. For a question or request about material you supplied, contact Leonard at the same email address and identify the relevant message.

This site does not offer a web form or online account for managing enquiries. No specific mailbox-retention period or response-time promise is made here; those should reflect the actual email service and editorial process.

Changes to the implemented site

New forms, analytics, embedded services, storage or advertising would change the data flows described here and require a revised policy before use. Public hosting configuration also needs review before launch. The editorial policy and terms of use explain the publication’s separate content practices.
